shoes on powerlines – aka “shoe tossing”

I read somewhere once that wherever you see shoes that have been thrown over power lines, then that means that there is a drug-dealer doing business nearby.
Sounds like the biggest load of crap to me.
What do you think?

Yeah, this pic WAS taken in a high-dollar neighborhood. I will keep my eye on those shoes and post if/when they come down.
Would love to see any pics of a shoe-type xmas tree line – a line with 4 or 5 or more pairs actually I actively encourage and invite anyone to create their own shoe Christmas Tree, shoot it and send it in for us to enjoy.

It sounds like a load of crap to me too, but I often notice that it is not totally out of the realm of possibility in the neighborhoods where they are spotted. I think that a fun thing to do would be to go to some high dollar neighborhoods and put some there. I wonder how long it would be before they were removed?
