ok i just had to get involved in the hugh jackman can ride anything meme.

the other day when oprah winfrey was in town filming her show at the opera house, hugh jackman was making his spectactuar entrance on a flying fox and he stuffed it up a bit. so the clever bunnies over at the blog cityrag, decided to have a bit of fun with it and thus, the hugh jackman can ride anything meme was born.

i decided to instead of getting him to straddle something, he can just set on the wing of a commercial jetliner.

as far as the eye injury goes, bugger that. it seems lucky that he didn’t end up with something worse – like something spinal judging by the the force of him getting thrown about like a rag doll.

in light of it turning out ok, hugh’s got to love this, it turns something a bit crappy into a lot of fun – helps boost his exposure as well, in a good way i am sure. i bet his osteopath and/or physiotherapist will get a few extra cheques in the mail as a result too.

nice to see him knocking back a glass of red as soon as they got him back to terra firma.

go hugh! you’re a trooper mate. angela bishop, sweetie, pet, darling, love – you do have a great job, but sorry, you really are a bogan.

plastic drinking cup art & the great pacific ocean garbage patch

plastic drinks cups stuck into a wire cyclone fence on south dowling street. “et phone up” am pretty sure this is no longer paddington, but is it darlinghurst, or is it surry hills here?

i really love this kind of street art and it reminds me a lot of pixel art.

i’m in a bit of bother however. as much as i am glad the council workers don’t ‘destroy the art’, my concern is that all of this plastic ends up being washed down the drains and into the sea at some point in time – and that is a concern.

oprah winfrey in sydney and a railway platform with a bloody good view

not so bad if your train is late and you have a view like this

i think that this has got to be one of the best views from any train station i have ever been to in my life. i’d love to hear if anyone out there can match or better it.

this is clearly before the oprah winfrey madness kicked in and the sydney opera house. was renamed the ‘oprah house’ and the sydney harbour bridge (the one in this pic if you didn’t already know) got affectionately monikered the ‘harpo bridge’ after being illuminated by a gigantic letter ‘O’ in her honour.

Oh dear, i just fear how many people in the future will believe that these are the official and original names for these landmarks. time will tell….
