grass

29.10 grass

as boring as watching grass grow? indeed.

you know, i really love this photo, i do.

i have had to dumb it down for the web. the original is far more detailed.

whenever you think that there is nothing going on, or that things are so large that you can’t handle them – step back for a moment.

look at the little things – the tiny insignificant things – like a patch of grass.

it really is quite busy there, i think this shot kind of defines this website and what i am all about -> extraordiunarrily ordinary.

look at things that you normally take for granted – like the grass you walk on – and take a step back and appreciate the tiny insignificant wonders they have to offer.

little things go a very long way. i hope you all get that. it is important.

now for a tomw waits tune – “green grass” – enjoy:

hi. i’m a blind 1950′s orphan

24.10.11 hi. im a blind 1950s orphan

what can you say about this without being politicalay insensitive/correct?

nothing.

i found this 1950′s dummy of a retard kid in springwood up in the blue mounyains. i’m not exactly sure what charity he was angling for, but i popped 20 cents into his head anyhow.

old dog surry hills

22.10.11 old dog surry hills

i was walking down crown street, surry hills when i met this lovely old pooch. he/she is all grew, walks with an arthritic hind-leg limp and had a lovely nature.

i tried taking to it to get its attention, but i am pretty certain the poor old dear is as deaf as a lamp post.

obviously someone else thaought the dog was dead as well, as they have cheekily chalked a very acurate line around the body while the dog was fast asleep. nice one.

perfection

21.10.113 perfection

a perfect day a perfect scene. one that i have lived with and grown up with.

this is bronte beach. i love it – it is tempramental and sometines violent. the reef on the south side can get pretty sucky and brutal.

next beach up northwards (forgetting mckenzies bay)-> tamarama – it is a haven for rips.

bronte and tama are two beaches that you really want to have your wits about to enjoy.

they are also 2 beaches that are wanker-magnets.

i grew up around these parts. everyone was working class.

now, if you want to live here, it seems that you have got to be british and working in finance.

a few beaches south (maroubra), if you want to own a place, you are chinese and sending your kids to australia on a student visa to buy the place up on your behalf.

i can not have an issue with the wealthy brits and chinese taking my country over. i can only have an issue with my stupid, short-sighted australian government.

it seems that rather than fostering some home grown talent and investing in it, the australian govt prefers to let homegrown talent go overseas forever and get culturally incompatible replacements who have no sovereign ties to this country.

i cry for my country. we had everything once, but we are selling off everything we own – bit by bit.

“lucky”? —  try “stupid”

rip mick

10.10.11 rip mick

i was driving down the m3 and my transport shat itself.

my wheels died right at this spot- near the turnoff for penrith, right before the nepean river.

i love motorbikes – riding them gives you such a sense of freedom. i like to think that i am a good rider, but anything can happen.

i don’t know mick, or any of his mates. i don’t know how mick died – was he being a nutter, on the piss, or just riding home from work?

seems that some 2 years have passed since this guy died at this turn-off, his gloves and helmet are still there and i hope they stay.

if micks little shrine can avert the death or injury of even one person,  his death has helped someone else.

mick, i have never met you – even if we have had met, i guess we would probably not get along – rip buddy. if your death can avert the death or suffering of a few others, then you know that you did not die without cause.

my dinner tonight – not for the vegetarians!

08.10.11 my dinner tonight not for the vegetarians!

i went to a bbq tonight in celebration of a local football tournament win. the team was a mixed bag of nationalities, but hungarians dominated the team – which is suprising, i have never met so many hungarians in one place here in sydney.

anyway, this was the centrepiece of the bbq – spit roasted sucking pig.

the guys went to a haberfield butcher and ordered a suckling pig. the butcher spit roasted it, chopped it up into pieces and pretty much just dumped all the pieces into an aluminium foil-lined box for them to take home.

it doesn’t look pretty, but god it was good.
