ok i just had to get involved in the hugh jackman can ride anything meme.
the other day when oprah winfrey was in town filming her show at the opera house, hugh jackman was making his spectactuar entrance on a flying fox and he stuffed it up a bit. so the clever bunnies over at the blog cityrag, decided to have a bit of fun with it and thus, the hugh jackman can ride anything meme was born.
i decided to instead of getting him to straddle something, he can just set on the wing of a commercial jetliner.
as far as the eye injury goes, bugger that. it seems lucky that he didn’t end up with something worse – like something spinal judging by the the force of him getting thrown about like a rag doll.
in light of it turning out ok, hugh’s got to love this, it turns something a bit crappy into a lot of fun – helps boost his exposure as well, in a good way i am sure. i bet his osteopath and/or physiotherapist will get a few extra cheques in the mail as a result too.
nice to see him knocking back a glass of red as soon as they got him back to terra firma.
go hugh! you’re a trooper mate. angela bishop, sweetie, pet, darling, love – you do have a great job, but sorry, you really are a bogan.

well the rain cleared away and the clouds have gone. back here again, i really need to get away from these industrial sites, i’m sure it’s just as bad as smoking is.
you can see another pic i took of this place a while back here.

ahhh, macquarie bank – don’t you just love to hate them?
first they bough sydney airport, then they wanted to make airport drive a toll road, then they jacked up car parking prices. the new rail link they helped build was a great idea and one long in the making, but when it costs $15 one way from the city for a train ticket, it makes more sense to catch a cab for two people than to pay these crooks their exorbitant prices.
a few months ago, because they were copping flak about their astronomical parking fees, they promoted a ‘terrific’ new ‘deal’ – 15 minutes free parking!!!! UNREAL!
just tell me mac bank, how can i drive in, park my car, pick up my arrival, help them with luggage back to the car and get out the boom gates within 15 minutes? if it takes me 16 mins, bang! – nice knowing you 7 bucks!
utter bastards.

it wasn’t my turn to fly a little bird today, but it was great being there anyway.

not a bad life, eh? drives this little thing on the ground, tinkers on his wwII aircraft and probably flies around in a sopwith or something all day. some people have it…

it is actually near the confluence of the sparkling alexandra canal and the crystal clear cooks river.
alexandra canal has the dubious honour of being the most toxic waterway in australia. it is so full of heavy metal contamination, that no one knows what to do with it. they believe that it’s best left alone, as it would be a bit of a disaster to disturb the mud at the bottom.

another smashingly brilliant day here today in sydney. can any aviation nut tell me what kind of aircraft this is?
botany bay was still as a lake, great water skiing day today for sure. perfect light, great visibility. you can even see the ports of botany there in the background.

yes, back at the airport again. in case you are wondering, home is not far from the airport and i often drive past it.
i have never flown with aerolineas argentinas, but from all reports, i don’t envy the passengers for their flight experience, i do however, envy them for their destination.

yep, back at the airport again.
After waving hello/goodbye to the passengers in this plane preparing for take-off, I took this shot. I might come back here wearing fluoro leotards, headband and bedazzled tank-top a-la-nu-skool Richard Simmons and do this for them next time. It’s like something you would expect to see on the oprah winfrey show – you know, ‘big’ americans having fun and believing in themselves – “express the power winthin!”.
Just an idea.
I can’t believe how close you can get to the aircraft here. So much for tight security – it’s almost laughable.

I love the airport – especially when i am going somewhere (which I’m not).
I also love a bit of lens flare sometimes.
another from the desolate series of photographs.
